Data Center Assessment
GTK Engineering has personnel who have been trained as EIA/TIA 942 Data Center Consultants as well as BICSI 002. We can provide an in depth assessment as to determine if the best practices and industry standards are being followed and provide a report detailing the issues and recommended steps to correct those issues. We offer a variety of levels to coincide with the organizations requirements.
Air Flow Modeling
In order to understand the air flow within a data center, GTK Engineering can perform a survey of the entire below floor and above floor environment. The survey collects information on the air handlers, underfloor obstructions and Rack IT load, this information is input to a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling program which produces a comprehensive model of the Data Center environment. This model provides an in depth identification of the velocity and pressures which can be utilized to improve efficiencies. You can’t monitor what you don’t measure.
Data Center Training
GTK Engineering has developed comprehensive training programs to educate data center personnel in the operations and engineering expertise required to efficiently manage the data center environment. The program teaches the understanding of the relationship of Power, Space, and Cooling. It provides hands on training with the tools required to monitor and ensure the proper airflow is maintained to all racks within the data center. The training can be tailored to ensure that the onsite environment is woven into the fabric of the curriculum.
Hot Aisle/Cold Aisle Containment
GTK Engineering is well versed on the extended benefits of each form of containment and the efficiency that can be gained by the installation. Our team can perform an assessment which can recommend the containment option that can provide increased cooling capability, the ability to lower air handler fan speeds to save significant cooling costs and improve data center efficiency. We can perform the engineering assessment, provide a recommended solution, procure the material and provide an expert installation team.
